The prints

The portraits are sold in a limited edition signed by the artists. Museum quality 'GICLEE' print in 100% Cotton acid-free fine art paper. Print size is 22 in x36 in (55 x 91 cm).

Giclee printing technology offers higher resolution and enhanced color range compared to traditional lithographs and serigraphy. We use specialized EPSON printing systems with matching "Ultra Chrome K3" pigment based inks. The series

This portrait is part of the Prosopa (Persons) series, comprising more than 50 portraits of inspirational people worldwide, such as Mahatma Gandhi, Jose Marti, Terry Fox, Albert Schweitzer, Leo Tolstoy, Emiliano Zapata, Mark Twain, Roald Amundsen, Simon Bolivar, Hokusai and more. The portraits are executed in the traditional Byzantine iconographic style.

The Prosopa (Persons) collection had a major exhibition in Greece as part of the cultural programming for the 2004 Olympic Games.

The artists

Giannis "Gigas" Thomas is a greek painter working in fine art as well as Byzantine religious iconography along with his wife and fellow fine artist Peggy Kouvari. Between them they have had numerous group and personal exhibitions as well as representing Greece in the 1992 Barcelona Bienalle and the 1993 Andalucian Biennalle.

Their fine art work can be found in numerous private collections in Greece and abroad, while their religious painting is to be seen in many churches all around Greece.
